COCC DEAN'S LIST

Congratulations to all students that appear on the Dean's List for their outstanding academic achievement. To be eligible to appear on the Deans List, students are required to be enrolled
for 12 or more graded credits and receive a term GPA of 3.60 or better.

2010 Central Oregon Community College Student Scholars

Central Oregon Community College students Barbara Bellinger and Vanessa Morrell, both of Bend, have been chosen as COCC’s winners of this year’s Outstanding Student Scholar Award.

Barbara Bellinger is majoring in International Studies and plans to transfer to Portland State University this fall to earn a degree in International Studies. Her goal is to be a freelance journalist in Third World countries.

Vanessa Morrell will earn her degree in June and. She plans to start work on a bachelor’s degree in Liberal Studies at Oregon State University-Cascades Campus before undertaking the master’s program in teaching. Her goal is to teach high school English.

Organized by the Oregon Community College Association, the award recognizes community college students for their academic achievement, leadership and service. Last week the students attended a luncheon in their honor and met with Governor Kulongoski at the state capitol.

Representatives of all of Oregon's 17 community colleges will participate in the event. Each scholar is eligible for a scholarship from most of Oregon's public and private four-year institutions if they apply and are accepted at their school of choice.
